Ross Ulmer

Ross Ulmer began playing trombone in the North Battleford City Kinsmen Band.  His education continued with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Saskatoon. While attending the University of Saskatchewan Ross placed first in the Brass division of the National Festival finals, and recorded a national concerto broadcast with the CBC Winnipeg Orchestra.  Ross spent two years at North Texas State University where he taught trombone and studied Jazz with Rich Matteson.  After graduation from North Texas, Mr. Ulmer spent two years as soloist with the RCMP Band in Ottawa then left music as a full time profession.  Most recently Ross has been involved with adult Jazz Ensembles and school music clinics in the Lloydminster area.  He continues to remain active as a jazz soloist in small and large jazz ensembles and is regularly been featured at Saskatoon,  Edmonton  and Regina Jazz society functions.
