Kris Craig’s guitar playing ranks with those of the very best in Canada. He has a way of presenting musical phrases that are always interesting, exciting and enjoyable. Kris received the opportunity to perform with Funk Brothers Jack Ashford and Joe Hunter (2004 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award) when they needed a guitarist. They were so impressed with his superb style that he was hired too tour with and play number of gigs throughout the USA in 2005. Through the Funk Brothers, Kris landed a job as one of the guitarists in the 2005 PBS Christmas Special, The Early Years of Motown which included The Temptations, The Four Tops, Gladys Horton and Kim Weston to name a few.

Kris began his professional career at the age of 12 playing bass in a local concert and jazz band RPJB. In 1990, he finished 1st runner-up in the semi-finals of the Fender Guitar Warz Competition in 1990. Over the years, Kris has become one of the most sought after guitarists in Western Canada. He has played guitar and/or keyboards in a wide variety of styles and with a wide ranging group of performers. While performing R&B\Funk for years, Kris has also played with and or been involved in recording sessions with all types of bands and genre of music, including; Joel Fafard, Brad Johner, Jerry Doucette and Karen Plato. Kris has also shared album credits with Dionne Taylor, Tommy Banks and Mike Lent. This is in addition to stage performances with Donald Ray Johnson, Roy Gaines, Wild Child Butler, Jack deKeyser 2003 Juno award winner, and Jack Semple, to name a few. In the 1994 Kris began playing with House of Payne which was very popular throughout Western Canada. When the band quit touring, Kris and George Taylor formed the soul/funk band Stepchyle releasing their first CD under that name in 2004. As well as performing with Stepchyle, Kris performs  with fellow Bluezown (88\91) member Mike Thompson, as well as Dan Siljer and Depen Pandya backing up EMI and Atlantic(USA) recording artist Serena Ryder
