Don Young has been a working musician for over 40 years. He began drumming with the Chevrons and toured Canada and the US with the Andantes, the band that eventually became Streetheart. There is hardly a part of the music business that Don has not been involved in over the years, having worked with Red Skelton, Bob Hope, Paul Anka, the Drifters, the Coasters, the Platters, the Deep River Boys, the Inkspots and many more all over North America. Don segued into jazz by playing on the road with Charlie Austin and Nate Strong plus accompanying the likes of Bernie Senensky, Big Miller and most Regina jazz players over the years. Don Young and Ken Jefferson have been partners in many musical ventures from Big Valley Jamborees, Telemiracles and TV shows to talent contests and Grey Cup performances. Don has participated in civic politics by running for city council and been President of the Regina Musicians Association for many years.
